It’s a conspiracy by minivan manufacturers to make child seats that don’t fit in awesome cars. The plan is to make you buy a minivan and sell the awesome cars.

I believe that. The kicker is that rear facing requirement. It turned what Ford advertised as a “four seated” into a 1.5 seater.

Mine has those anchors. Doesn’t solve any of the room issues. Car seat base plus rear facing car seat equals good by front passenger leg room.

I had the same problem with an E46 wagon. Car seats are too big for a station wagon. Wtf.

Indeed. It is pretty snug in my G8, which is a pretty big and roomy car.

And this is why some car sales guys are going to have to deal with me showing up to test drive with both a front and a rear facing seat and requisite strollers when I look this summer.
My TDI JSW can handle it so if I replace it then the replacement has to handle it.

Does it actually fit? I’m an expectant dad with a 2010 GT convertible...just wondering.

It fits. But the front passenger room becomes severely compromised.

Our Mini handled it.

Yeah, I’m just not looking to lose cargo space and any purchase is dependent on whatever the options are regarding VWs deal with the feds.

Luckily my girlfriend is 5 foot 6 so she can give up some leg room.
